Description

Common Bearberry grows everywhere in my area.  It forms large mats covering the steep sides of some of our ditches.  I don’t have far to go when I need to collect pounds of it, there is an entire 1/4 km of it just down the road.

Excellent ground cover in most soil conditions.  Grows well under pine & spruce trees.

The drupe is berry like, bright red, dry and tasteless.  And yes, I have tried it.  Be careful, good way to crack a tooth.
